LOCATION UPDATED 11/20 - Location has been changed from Sullivan Canyon Trailhead to **Sullivan Fire Road**. We will be hiking Sullivan Fire Road in the Palisades with spectacular views of the Santa Monica mountains and a few spots with views of the Santa Monica Bay. It's in and out so those who want a shorter hike can turn around 5 miles when we get to an overlook and the rest of us will continue on for a longer hike to a large oak tree about a mile or so further in for a longer hike of around 7/7.5 miles. Please also bring water, snacks, and sun protection as you will need.

To prepare for the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, our book group has selected the following book set in Milan: Bored with their work, three Milanese editors cook up "the Plan," a hoax that connects the medieval Knights Templar with other occult groups from ancient to modern times. This produces a map indicating the geographical point from which all the powers of the earth can be controlled — a point located in Paris, France, at Foucault’s Pendulum. But in a fateful turn the joke becomes all too real, and when occult groups get wind of the Plan, they go so far as to kill one of the editors in their quest to gain control of the earth.
